What is the Ping 2?
The Ping 2 is one of the best lightweight strollers for budding travellers. Fitted with adjustable calf support, as well as a bumper bar, and seat straps, you can be assured that your child is both secure and comfortable, which is incredibly important for travel prams where a child may be in their buggy for longer periods of time.
Why do I need a travel buggy
A lightweight travel stroller is a travel essential when travelling with children. No matter if you want to go to the beach, on a trek or to the zoo, kids are going to be up and down and it’s always best to be prepared.
However, not all strollers are built the same and there are benefits to having a compact stroller such as the Ping 2, over a standard buggy.
Cabin Storage
The airport experience is often quite intimidating for parents and being able to take your buggy through the airport with you can often make this experience much easier. Most airlines will allow you to take a compact buggy onto a flight free of charge (as long as the child is also travelling), but often there are restrictions.
Often, if you would like your pram to be stored in the cabin with you, it will need to meet typical cabin luggage dimensions or it will have to be stored within the hold. There are also sometimes weight restrictions, for both the hold and the cabin, before a charge could be applied. Therefore it is best to get the lightest stroller possible, as well as one with a good folding mechanism, to avoid any surprise additional fees being applied to your holiday.
Lightweight
Travelling with children is a rewarding, yet challenging experience. They’ll be up, down and dancing around, and you’ll have to be prepared with a compact stroller for when they tire themselves out. However, for the periods where your children are running around and exploring, having a lightweight buggy will be a lifesaver.
Rather than having to push around an empty stroller, you can simply fold up your pram and carry it with ease using a shoulder strap. This makes it easier to transport, especially if you’re getting public transport, than a larger and heavier pram might be.

Durable
Durability might not be something that you had considered when purchasing your buggy, however, if you’re a hiker or a walker who faces rougher terrain while on holiday then it can become important. Just like in a car, the suspension of your pram becomes important to ensure a smooth ride, particularly when encountering very uneven ground. The last thing anyone would want is to get an hour into a hike and lose a wheel!
It is also essential that a pram is durable for city life – often a city break will involve lots of walking which can often tire children quickly. Most lightweight buggies are not intended for heavy duty travel, so making sure that your pram is up to the task is crucial.
Car seat compatible
If you have a young child, or if you’re going on a longer trip and have hired a car, taking car seats may be crucial for you. Often airlines will allow your child to sit in their car seat on the plane to try and make them more comfortable on the flight. In these cases having a pram that is compatible with your car seat can be a major benefit.
The Ping 2 strollers are compatible with the Tulip car seats which are sold separately but are the ideal attachment for travel strollers.
Comfort
There is no point in having compact strollers if your child is not going to be comfortable within the pram because they simply won’t want to use it. The Ping 2 selections have comfort attributes such as an adjustable leg rest and seat that allow your child to lie flat and get in a quick power nap if needed – this will come in incredibly useful while on holiday.
Making sure that your lightweight stroller is fitted with a sun canopy and a rain cover is also important, not only for the comfort of your child but in making sure that they are safe from burns and illness.
